Let's play telephone!!

ARE YOU READY?!!


Let's all play telephone. Here's how it will work: I will start with the beginnings of a creative process, which for me might be gathering some inspirational found images, art images, news stories, conversations, fabrics, music, whatever. I assemble and send off to the next person. That person takes the next step however they decide to. Maybe they sketch, maybe they have a conversation about it, maybe they chuck it all out and do whatever they want. Whatever they do, they send a record of it to the next person. The next person continues. And so on. You can do whatever you like in response to what you receive. You can make a response. You can throw it away and make something entirely new. You could volunteer somewhere. You could get a new job. You could talk to your best friend. Just send something to the next person.

Obviously there are limitations. These things must be mailed and many of you are located all over the country and world. But get creative, OK? If you don't want to pay all that postage, internet is FREE suckers, and you can type yourself an email. Look, I'm already getting creative.

The whole point, for me at least, is to help me think outside of my routines. This doesn't have to be an art project or whatever, but it should inspire you to do or make something you otherwise would not. And in this post-college malaise, couldn't we all use that? (OK, or in college malaise). And if there is one thing that inspires me more than anything else, it is my friends.

So sign up! Tell your friends! Tell anybody at all that you think would be interested! Maybe I will make a blog to track the process or something. I don't know people, see how much work I have been doing for this? This is REAL.

I will make a schedule on February 14, 2009 so we can get a chain and figure out how long people should have in between transitions. Maybe it will cycle for the year? POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS.
